We adopted Macy (once known as Cindy Lou) in March of 2004. We fostered her for a week and after the first day decided that she had to stay! We followed through with the adoption and went home very happy. That same evening during a snow squall, Macy's collar snapped and she ran off. Needless to say our whole family was very upset and spent all night looking for her, putting up "lost" posters , calling shelters, and of course the Humane Society of Chittenden County.

Susan was more than wonderful and assured me that we would find her. I later found out that four employees of the shelter came out by our home in Williston in shifts looking for Macy. Thankfully we found Macy about 22 hours after she had "broke free". Unfortunately, she had been hit by a car and had a nasty cut on her leg and a bruised lung.  Susan met us at Green Mountain Animal hospital and was very supportive for us when we needed it most.

That was 3 1/2 weeks ago and I am happy to report that Macy is back to her active self, stealing our socks and slippers and chewing on anything she can get her hands on.

We would like to thank HSCC for allowing Macy to become a part of our family and being there when we needed all the support we could get.

Even though we have not been together long, Macy is a very loved member of our family and we can not imagine our lives with out her.  Thank you for the great job you do on a daily basis for all the "macy's " in our community.
