Little One Finds A Home
Excerpt from a letter sent in by the family of HSCC Alumnus, Tootsie...
In January of this year, we adopted Little One, a chocolate Sharpei. Although she was not my first, second, or third choice, (she was very timid) I thought "What the heck!", and took her out on a leash. It was love at first meeting. What a wonderful pet she is! I've never had a more dedicated or loving dog. She has completely captivated our entire family. Well, except for maybe our old cat, who won't accept any change. We renamed Little One and she is now known as Tootsie. We thought it very suitable since she does look like a tootsie roll.
...Tootsie is the queen of our home, has free reign of the furniture, and of course, sleeps with us every night. She is also able to go with me to work every day and has become quite social with many people. She looks forward to car rides and unless it's too warm, she goes everywhere with us. She even has a pair of "doggie" sunglasses that are 400UV to protect her eyes!
Tootsie has impeccable manners-we attended obedience classes and she was the star of the class. What a little lady!
We look forward to having Tootsie with us for many years. We have always adopted our animals from humane societies, and we have always been very fortunate to get great animals. Thank you so much for taking care of Tootsie until we could adopt her.
Sincerely, Sue, Denny, and Tootsie
